Odawas
Black Harmony
The final Odawas album is a bittersweet document of played out dreams and broken promises. Working with a rotating cast of drummers and bass players during its last years, the band was finally put out of its misery playing to ten people at the Hemlock Tavern on a Tuesday night in San Francisco. A victim of neglect by its creators and indifference from its audience. While we didn’t go out further than we should have, like the protagonist in The Old Man and the Sea, it did feel as if we returned tied to a bloody marlin carcass. Black Harmony was the most realized vision of the ethos of Odawas and included some of our best songs, most mystifying characters and sharpest arrangements.
